My Response to Mr. Hayden's comments on "An Analysis of Anti-Islamic Polemics"
Recently, I came across a link to a response by Mr. David Hayden to an old article of mine - An Analysis of Anti-Islamic Polemics, written nearly a decade ago. His response can be seen by clicking here.
My response follows:
My response follows:
Mr. David Hayden's
response to an old article of mine mentions John Fletcher's interpretation of
what John of Segovia intended vis-a-vis 'peaceful' dialogue with Muslims. Such
interpretation is rather a mellowed down version of what John really meant or did
and is a wilful attempt to present John of Segovia in a kinder, gentler way.
Like obsessed missionaries of later times, John was more interested in bringing
non-Christian people to Christ one way or another rather than genuine dialogue
to understand or appreciate other's view on such contentious subjects.
