VHP protests shooting of Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Raees” in Bhuj

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has always been a Hindu fascist organization since its ignoble birth. It wants to see India transformed into a purely Hindu state where minorities - Muslims and Christians - would have no rights.
With the BJP ruling at the center, the VHP and the other member parties of the Sangh Parivar have naturally become very emboldened to show their ugly face of  fascism, which has translated into a series of riots and pogroms against the minority Muslims in recent years. Muslims have been marginalized in every possible way. They are getting killed for cattle trade and suspicion of eating or storing beef in their refrigerators. India has now come to be known as a state of intolerance, putting to shame some of its lofty claims. With such prejudices and hate crimes prevalent it is not difficult to connect the recent spikes in rapes all across India.
The Hindutvadi fascists don't like anyone to voice their concern. According to them, if you are a dissenter and don't like what you are witnessing these days, you better leave the country.
Even Bollywood actors who have voiced their concern about the new trend in India have faced hostility from the rank and file of the Sang Parivar and its supporters within the bigot Hindu community.
Shah Rukh Khan, a mega star, is not immune from such harassment either. In December last year, workers of right wing organisations had staged protest against Khan in Gujarat, Rajasthan states and called for a boycott of his film “Dilwale” on the same issue. Shah Rukh Khan had entered the ongoing debate on intolerance on November 2 last year by expressing that there was “extreme intolerance” in the country.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) members today protested against the ongoing shooting of Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Raees” in the district, for his earlier remarks on “intolerance”. Around 20-30 VHP activists on Tuesday handed over a memorandum to district officers and demanded withdrawal of the permission given for the shooting of the film.
“He should think, living in this country which gave him name, fame and riches; if he goes on speaking about on-existent intolerance, the VHP will never forgive,” Gujarat VHP general secretary Ranchod Bharwad said.
One wonders how far these fascists would go to change India!
